Rain sensors and lane departure devices are attached to the front windshield in the area of the rear view mirror. Usually they part of the actual mounting apparatus of the rear view mirror. They are best seen while viewing the windshield standing outside of the car. Sometimes there will be just a rain sensor, and sometimes there will be just a lane departure device. On some vehicles both the rain sensor and the lane departure device will be combined in the same mount.
